Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Capturely (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Capturely Android application (the “App”) and the website at capturely.mojata.com (the “Site”).
1. Information We Collect
Capturely is designed to minimize data collection. The following categories of information may be collected:
- Recordings and media on your device. Screen recordings, screenshots, and audio captured by the App are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
- Account information for live streaming. When you choose to live stream to a third-party platform (YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or a custom RTMP server), you authenticate with that platform. We receive an access token and basic profile information (such as channel name or page name) solely to create and manage the broadcast you initiate. Tokens are stored on your device and are not transmitted to us.
- Diagnostic and crash data. We use Google Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymized crash reports and aggregated usage metrics (such as screen views, feature usage, and device model). This data helps us diagnose issues and improve the App.
- Advertising identifiers. If you use the free version of the App, Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers to serve ads.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the screen recording and live streaming features you request.
- To create, manage, and end live broadcasts on your behalf on third-party platforms.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve App stability.
- To serve advertising (free version only).
3. Use of Facebook Data
If you connect a Facebook account to live-stream via the Facebook Graph API, Capturely requests only the permissions necessary to create and publish a live video to a Page or profile you own or manage (for example publish_video and pages_read_engagement). We use this access solely to:
- List your eligible Pages so you can choose where to stream.
- Create a live video object and receive an RTMP ingestion URL.
- Start, update status, and end the broadcast you initiate.
We do not post on your behalf other than the live video you explicitly start, we do not read your personal posts, messages, or friends list, and we do not sell Facebook data to any third party. Access tokens are stored on your device and can be revoked at any time from your Facebook Business Integrations settings.
4. Use of YouTube Data
When you connect a Google/YouTube account, Capturely uses the YouTube Data API v3 under the youtube.force-ssl scope to create a liveStream and liveBroadcast, bind them, and transition the broadcast you started. Your use of YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Capturely’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Third-party streaming platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, custom RTMP servers) when you explicitly start a broadcast.
- Service providers that help us operate the App, such as Google Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics) and Google AdMob. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.
- Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process.
6. Data Retention
Recordings remain on your device until you delete them. Access tokens remain on your device until you sign out or uninstall the App. Diagnostic data collected by Firebase is retained per Google’s data retention policies.
7. Children’s Privacy
Capturely is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, or to request deletion of any data associated with your account, please follow the instructions on our Data Deletion page or email contact@mojata.com.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS, OAuth 2.0, encrypted local storage where available) to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
